Dichotomies

laying back on my nice soft bed,

window open,

roof over my head, warmth,

I hear slowly an increase in the rattle of wheels down the sidewalk,

a cart needed for a few possession

or perhaps empty,

but waiting for the cans and bottles it can carry for a bite of food,

for a sip of something to soothe the throat.

I lay back on my nice soft bed, window open, outside someone is homeless.
